A Creative Journey

I'm Kira Schindler, a German-Irish abstract artist based in Munich.

With a business degree and a background in the travel industry and project management, I've always carried a deep love for colour, for the quiet beauty of nature and its forms, and a real passion for making art.

Photography came first — capturing moments from my travels around the world. It was in the museums I wandered through along the way that I rediscovered my love for art, and that passion soon evolved into painting, where I lose all sense of place and time.

My style is a vibrant blend of nature-inspired motifs, abstracted and lifted with neon touches; a few pieces edge into the figurative. The portfolio ranges from 1×2 metre acrylic canvases to intimate works on linen or paper, often grouped in series.

It's exactly this contrast — bold brushstrokes on large canvases and the fine detail of paper and linen — that keeps the work endlessly interesting to me. Right now I'm exploring new colour palettes, and many more ideas and pieces will surface soon.
